Oscar Nominees 2025: See the Complete List

The time has come. On Thursday, January 23, Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang announced the Oscar nominees 2025 live from the Film Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

Some fans will be disappointed to find that neither Selena Gomez nor Pamela Anderson, who were both nominated at the 2025 Golden Globes, were recognized by the Academy for their roles in Emilia Pérez and The Last Showgirl, respectively. Also snubbed? Nicole Kidman, who played the spicy lead role in Babygirl. That said, relative newcomers including Monica Barbaro and Mickey Madison are getting their due—same with Madison’s Anora costar, Yura Borisov.

We’ll still probably see Gomez and her fiancé Benny Blanco on the red carpet given that Emilia Pérez is nominated for best picture. And fashion fans, not to fret: Though Elle Fanning wasn’t nominated for her role in A Complete Unknown, it’s likely she, too, will join the rest of her cast to celebrate their best picture nomination.

The Academy had delayed the nominations announcements twice due to the deadly wildfires which have burned more than 40,000 acres in Los Angeles, destroyed hundreds of structures, and displaced thousand of people. In a release on January 22, the Academy also stated that the ceremony will “honor Los Angeles” amid the devastation.

“We will honor Los Angeles as the city of dreams, showcasing its beauty and resilience, as well as its role as a beacon for filmmakers and creative visionaries for over a century,” Academy CEO Bill Kramer and president Janet Yang said in a letter, per The Hollywood Reporter. “We will reflect on the recent events while highlighting the strength, creativity, and optimism that defines Los Angeles and our industry.”

This year’s ceremony will be hosted by Conan O’Brien and broadcast live on ABC on Sunday, March 2 at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT.
