Donna Kelce Jokes That Her Friends Deserve Credit for ‘Putting Up With’ Her Sons While She Worked

It takes a village, especially if you’re raising the Kelce boys.

On the red carpet at Glamour’s 2024 Women of the Year Awards, Donna Kelce reflected on how she balanced life as a working mom while raising her two sons, Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce.

Her best advice? Rely on your support system, especially your other mom friends.

“Thank you to all those individuals who had to put up with my kids when I wasn’t around,” she told the red-carpet hosts, 2023 Glamour Woman of the Year Brooke Shields and her daughter, Rowan Henchy.

Kelce said that while it was tough sometimes figuring out how to advance in her career (she worked in banking for nearly 30 years) while also being a full-time parent, her girl gang of fellow moms made it all possible. She added that she still keeps in touch with those friends, describing them as 50 and “fabulous.”

She also shouted out her former husband and the Kelce brothers’ father, Ed Kelce. “Also, I had a fantastic husband at the time that helped out and we were a team so it worked out,” she added.

Donna Kelce is being honored at the October 8 event as part of Glamour’s Women of the Year class of 2024, appearing on the cover with fellow iconic moms Tina Knowles, Mandy Teefey, and Maggie Baird. She told Glamour that her sons were, well, a bit of a handful growing up. Hey, they did turn out to be professional athletes!

“…How many broken windows there were, how many times I had a call from the neighbor,” she said. “They weren’t mean children or bad children; it’s just that they were very rambunctious.”
