Jennifer Aniston Chestnut Bronde Is the Most Covetable Shade of the Season

When the man behind Jennifer Aniston’s iconic The Rachel haircut declares a new hair trend to watch out for, I’m already there with a pen and a pad.

Hair stylist Chris McMillan is the talent behind some of the most buzzy hair moments seen on the red carpet and front covers for the past three decades, and his understated approach to phenomenal-looking strands is the reason he’s been tapped by countless celebrities, including Jennifer Aniston, Gigi Hadid, Cameron Diaz, and Selena Gomez.

Working with a new client, actor Leila George (who is set to feature in upcoming indie film The Long Home, alongside The Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson), McMillan explained the details behind her straight, flicky hairstyle.

“Leila George Golden Globes final touches!!!” he captioned a video on Instagram in which he explained the haircut and color—which he named chestnut bronde—were created by him. He also let slip that the hair choice was “inspired by Jennifer Aniston sleek early 2000s hair.”

McMillan’s aesthetic has always been a gently polished take on natural-looking textures and colors, and chestnut bronde nails the assignment. Chestnut hair had already been gaining momentum heading into 2025, but this bronde rendition offers a pretty way of wearing the trend while keeping hair lighter. The blend of golden, blonde, and chestnut tones is also gentler on strands than brighter blondes.

Elsewhere we’ve seen other celebrities adopt the chestnut trend. Ariana Grande moved from platinum Glinda blonde to chestnut bronde in time for the Golden Globes red carpet.
