Taylor Swift Gave Travis Kelce a Major Shout-Out During the Last Eras Tour Show

Busy beating the Los Angeles Chargers, Travis Kelce wasn’t able to make it to the final show of his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s blockbuster Eras Tour in Vancouver, Canada. But he was still there in spirit as Swift gave him a major shout-out from the stage.

As fans probably know, Swift’s last song of the show every night was “Karma,” from the album Midnights, which originally contained the lyrics “Karma is the guy on the screen, coming straight home to me…Karma is my boyfriend.” When the song came out, Swift was in a relationship with actor Joe Alwyn, presumably the basis for the “guy on the screen.” But since she’s been dating Kelce, the superstar has occasionally changed the lyric to “guy on the Chiefs,” a reference to his football team. At the final Eras show on December 8, it was “guy on the Chiefs.”

But that’s not the only Kelce-ism that made its way onto the setlist. During “But Daddy I Love Him,” Swift struck an “archer” pose similar to the move Kelce’s been known to make on the field. (Please note that this is different from the “archer” pose she strikes during the song “The Archer.”)

It’s a fitting way to include him in the last show of a tour that didn’t just overlap with the start of their relationship; it’s what brought them together in the first place. When word broke that Taylor Swift was single, Kelce memorably tried to use a friendship bracelet (an Eras-ism) to give her his number after a show. When that didn’t work, they got in contact, presumably, through their reps, and thus the flirtation began; here’s a full relationship timeline. If she weren’t touring, who knows what could have happened…or not happened.

Now that the tour has concluded, we can probably expect to see Swift at some more Chiefs games, not that she has to plan her schedule around her boyfriend. And apparently they’re going to do something special for her birthday, which is in a few days. Archery lessons, maybe?
